 HOME:

The Roseberry Townsite is home to the Valley County Museum and is governed by the Long Valley Preservation Society

Long Valley Preservation Society was established in 1973. The goal is to collect, preserve, interpret and display Valley County history at the Roseberry Museum Complex.

On August 31, 1973, the Long Valley Preservation Society was formed. Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Valley County Recorder for the Idaho Non-Profit Corporation, dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of Roseberry and Long Valley.

Original Board members were Frank Eld, Louis Green, Ada Fern Kessler, Velma Shoemaker, Ella Eld, Bud Corbin, and Ray Nissula. Frank is still an active member today, and remains deeply involved with acquiring buildings and restoring the historic town site. Frank currently resides in Roseberry at the Arling House. He is the Mayor of Roseberry, Sheriff, and Justice of the Peace. He performs several marriage ceremonies each year.

 HISTORY OF ROSEBERRY

In the late 1800's there were several families residing in and around Roseberry. By the spring of 1905, the town of Roseberry was growing, complete with a hotel, two black smith shops, two stores, a restaurant, butcher shop, logging mill, and a creamery destined to be the largest in Long Valley.

In 1914-15, the Pacific, Idaho and Northern Railroad line traveled through Long Valley two miles west of the town of Roseberry. Homes and businesses decided to move to intersect the rail lines at this new location, and the new town became Donnelly. Roseberry became a semi-ghost town of a few sturdy structures and people.

 PUBLIC & PRIVATE EVENTS:

Many of these lovely restored buildings are available for your private events. The Barn is a delightful place for a wedding, reception, retirement party, or dance. The restored church building has hosted many recent weddings.
